Getting the most out of a Small Bathroom Space

Getting the most out of a small bathroom space

We really wanted to make the most out of the space we had for this room. Originally it was a laundry/bathroom. So we started by gutting the entire room and starting from scratch. We opted not to include a bath in this room as it would have taken up too much space in an already small room.

I like to keep things quite simple with statement pieces. We decided to go with a statement floor tile. We used the Artisan Oxford floor tile, it’s a beautiful porcelain tile that really makes an impact when you first walk into the room.

For the wall tiles we wanted something with a bit of texture. So we went with an agrestic wall tile in a satin white colour. They are a beautiful hand made looking ceramic tile and they really came up a treat in the room. To break up the white on the walls I did black around the shower niche to really pick up the black in the beautiful floor tiles and it really did turn out great and has become one of my favourite things in the room.

Because of the use of black and white in this room i wanted to add some warmth by going with a wooden vanity. I kept it simple with an ultra white stone top and round basin. I decided to go with chrome tap ware as I really wanted to keep it simple and make the tiles and vanity stand out.

The round mirror in the bathroom looks absolutely terrific and really picks up the black in the niche and the floor tiles. It was the last thing to go into the bathroom and really complemented the entire room.

I’ve never really liked towel racks so the decision to put the hooks in was an easy one and I feel it really makes the towels look lovely and just suits the room.

Overall it’s a beautiful inviting bathroom that has given us ample space for a growing family.
